"Substantial progress" was achieved during talks between US and Russia's government representatives about the possibility of resuming deliveries of US chicken-meat to the Russian market, reported US Under Secretary of Agriculture for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services J.Penn after a round of talks with Russia's Deputy Agriculture Minister Sergei Dankvert in Washington.
According to Penn, the delegations of Russia and the USA agreed to exchange "final documents" on veterinary control. It will be clear in "a couple of days" if the sides can reach "a final agreement on the certificate." "We expect we shall be able to close the issue once and for all and resume poultry deliveries to Russia from the USA," he said.
