EurAsEc: on way to further integration

On Tuesday general secretary of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) Grigory Rapota discussed prospects for integration in the Eurasian space with Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Nikolai Tanayev.

Grigory Rapota arrived in Bishkek to participate in a meeting of the Integration Committee of the EurAsEC.

A EurAsEC commission on customs-tariff and non-tariff regulation is already working in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The plans of joint leasing activity for the next two years and of agreed-upon restructuring of the economies of the countries - party to the Treaty on the Customs Union and on Single Economic Space are being discussed.

The results of the commission's work will be submitted for consideration to the EurAsEC Integration Committee.

According to RIA Novosti, about forty questions will be considered during the Integration Committee session. Listed among them are the principles of working out interstate special-purpose programmes of the EurAsEC and the procedure for implementing decisions of the EurAsEC Interstate Council. A number of documents, among them a draft treaty on cooperation in external borders control and an agreement on cooperation between the Ministries of Justice, will also be submitted for consideration by the sides.

The Integration Committee is a permanently operating body of the Community which includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Moldova and Ukraine have the status of observers.
