Russian-French summit ends in Sochi

President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation and President Jacques Chirac of France finished negotiating in Russia's Sochi resort on the Black Sea coast.

This was a very useful, extremely frank and positive summit, Putin noted.

Talking to RIA Novosti, the Russian leader's spokesman Alexei Gromov noted that both Presidents discussed issues pertaining to strategic stability, the Mideastern peace settlement and long-term Russia -- European Union relations. Some aspects of bilateral economic relations were also examined.
