Plenipotentiary representative of the Russian President in the North-Western Federal District Viktor Cherkesov and co-chairman of the Board of Directors of the East-West Institute George Russel will discuss on Friday the investment problems of the Kaliningrad Region (Russia's enclave on the Baltic Sea).
Apart from that, George Russel intends to involve Viktor Cherkesov in the discussion of possible spheres of cooperation in the context of the so-called initiative of the private sector which presupposes the strengthening of the private sector's influence on the formation of a favourable business environment.
George Russel plans to tell Viktor Cherkesov in detail about the Institute's activity in ensuring a budgetary transparency in the Kaliningrad region and to discuss with him the expediency of introducing the results of the project in other areas of the district.
Yesterday, Viktor Cherkesov met the other co-chairman of the Board of Directors of the East-West Institute - ex-President of Finland Martti Ahtisaari.
