China to develop cooperation with Russia in educational sphere

China intends to develop cooperation with Russia in educational sphere, Deputy President of the Chinese State Council Li Lanqing said at a meeting of bilateral intergovernmental commission on cooperation in educational, cultural, health and sport spheres in Moscow on Thursday.

According to him, educational cooperation "is one of the most promising trends in Russian-Chinese relations".

The commission discussed the plan of cooperation in humanitarian spheres, which is being elaborated by both countries. The plan implies, in particular, the creation of joint universities and the expansion of studies of the Chinese language in Russia and the Russian language in China.
