The Prosecutor's Office of Russia's North Caucasian republic of Karachai-Circassia has opened a criminal case against two Abkhazian trespassers that were detained on the Russian-Georgian border.
According to the Prosecutor of Karachai-Circassia, Vladimir Gannochka, the trespassers were caught in the Damkhurts Pass on Wednesday while heading for the rear services of a local frontier post on horseback. Spotting border guards, the men tried to escape to the mountains, prompting their persecutors to open precision fire and shoot down both horses.
The trespassers were armed with two AK-47 assault rifles, a sniper rifle, and matching ammunition. According to Gannochka, they both face charges of illegal crossing of the state border and storage of fire-arms and ammunition.
