A large fire raged on Tuesday in Kazan. A bitumen storage burned down in building and assembly department 856 of the Kalininsky settlement.
The department owns a large 5-section pool for oil products storage, the State fire service department's press service informed. Three of them stored black oil, the other two - bitumen.
One of the bitumen sections, 16x15 meters in size, caught fire after two cisterns of bitumen had been poured into it, and a third one was on the way. The firemen said it had added to the difficulty of the problem, as the cistern could explode at any moment.
The fire of a 3rd-grade difficulty was extinguished with foam in about an hour. There were no victims or casualties, the damage is being defined. According to experts, the fire was caused by a short circuit in the electric wiring.
