Sukhoi shuns Farnborough airshow

The Sukhoi aviation military industrial complex fears exhibiting its Su planes at the Farnborough airshow, said Sukhoi general director Mikhail Pogosyan at a RIA Novosti press conference on Tuesday.

The reason is the Noga firm, which can still lay claims. "The Paris court has not turned down actions against our company. This is why we will not show our planes at Farnborough. They can be seized," said Pogosyan.

For the first time Sukhoi aircraft will not make demonstration flights at the Farnborough international airshow.

Pogosyan hopes this will not affect the Sukhoi reputation. "We have something to show. We have gone a long way in the modernisation of aviation complexes," said the Sukhoi general director.

At the Farnborough airshow, which will be held on July 22nd through 28th, the Sukhoi exposition will occupy 300 square meters. This time Sukhoi will appear in cooperation with other manufacturers. On show will be power plants, missile armaments, navigation instruments by other Russian makers.

At Farnborough Sukhoi will also show civilian machines. It is above all a promising design of a Russian regional plane. Other exhibits will be sporting, trainer and crop-duster planes, said the Sukhoi general director.
