Representatives of the Serbian community in the Kosovo parliament refuse to go to the UN Security Council session in New York as members of the Kosovo delegation, but are willing to be part of the Yugoslavian delegation, said one of the Serbian leaders, head of the Serbian MP group in the local parliament Rada Trajkovic.
The decision to attend the New York session that will be considering the situation in the Yugoslavian region was taken by head of the UN civil mission in Kosovo Michael Steiner. He invited the Kosovo president, prime minister, and parliament president, as well as representatives from the Serbian MP group to take part in the delegation. Yet the Serbs do not want to be "a decoration for the Albanian delegation", said Trajkovic. The attempt to represent Kosovo at the Security Council by such a delegation is violating the well-known resolution 1244, she believes. Under this resolution Kosovo is part of Yugoslavia and thus has no international status, the Serbian leader stressed.
