The visit of the delegation of the North-West Federal District to the People's Republic of China began on July 13. As announced by the press-service of Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the North-West Viktor Cherkesov the delegation was led by Deputy Plenipotentiary Lyubov Sovershayeva and included representatives of the North-West Federal District and the Kaliningrad Region.
As announced by the press-service of the administration of the Kaliningrad Region, the visit was arranged by the staff of the Plenipotentiary of the Russian President in the North-West District and is intended to assist the development of the Kaliningrad Region's international economic contacts. From the Chinese side the visit was organised by the Chinese Foreign Office and the Chinese Society of Friendship with Other Countries.
The visit will continue until July 20. In the programme, talks are scheduled with the state tax department of Beijing, as well as talks with the committee for the direction of a duty-free zone (Pudun Region), a visit to the trade dock, duty-free storage, and the customs control point in Shanghai. The Chinese side will share their experience with their Russian guests in attracting foreign investment and creating and operating free economic zones, for which they will visit the Shenchjen free economic zone and Hong Kong.
