The talks in Brussels on July 23 will focus on the problem of the Kaliningrad region (Russian semi-enclave on the Baltic Sea). Representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the European Commission (the Supreme Executive Body of the European Union) and Denmark, presiding over the EU, will participate in the talks, Russian Vice Premier Viktor Khristenko said.
Khristenko held a regular meeting of the governmental commission on Russia-EU relations.
The forthcoming talks will focus on the regime of communication between Kaliningrad and other Russian regions after Lithuania and Poland's joining the European Union, Khristenko stressed. Russia insists on the visa-free passage by Russian citizens from Kaliningrad to other regions and backward, he added.
The talks will also focus on Russian-EU cooperation in the implementation of several projects in the Kaliningrad region.
