The Israeli and Palestinian embassies in Moscow do not have any information on the secret meeting between Shimon Peres and Yasser Arafat's personal aide that was allegedly held in Copenhagen.
"So far the embassy has not received such information, but according to the Qatar television company Al Jazeera, the meeting was planned," said the Palestinian embassy.
A Palestinian-Israeli meeting was prepared, but "so far there is no information on what level and when it may be held," the embassy added.
The Israeli embassy in Moscow does not have any information on the alleged Copenhagen meeting either. Yet it confirmed that a meeting of the Palestinian and Israeli leadership "was planned".
On Monday Israeli e-media informed that on Sunday Copenhagen had hosted a secret meeting between Israeli foreign minister Shimon Peres and Yasser Arafat's personal aide for economic issues Mohammed Rashid. Sources in Jerusalem say that Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon had known about the meeting in advance, but his press service refuses to give any comments.
