A severe earthquake of 5.9 points on the Richter scale was registered in Taiwan on Thursday.
In Taiwan's capital Taipei, many buildings were swaying to and fro, but, according to the local authorities, there were no damages and no victims.
The earthquake occurred about 4 o'clock in the evening local time. The epicenter was registered at 3.2 kilometers above sea level, 73 kilometers off the Taiwan coast.
