An extraordinary conference of the Russian Cultural Centre was held in Uzbekistan to adopt new regulations, because the former regulations didn't meet the processes of democratisation in the republic.
The new regulations will expand the possibilities of the cultural-enlightening and public-productive activities of the Russian Cultural Centre, first deputy chairman of the centre's board Viktor Medvedev told the RIA Novosti correspondent.
Owing to the exclusive educational programme of the Russian Cultural Centre, various cultural-enlightening activities and the Russian Language programme, the centre's work is always the focus of public attention.
Hundreds of schoolleavers attend preparation classes to enter Russian and Uzbek higher education institutions.
In 2002 Uzbek schoolchildren won the first International Contest on the Russian language in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Baltic States and were awarded for their successful studies of Russian.
Due to a special system within the Russian Cultural Centre Uzbek teachers can improve their professional skills in Russia. During the last two years 80 teachers of the Russian language improved their skills in Omsk (Siberia).
