At the coming negotiations in Tbilisi Russian Security Council Secretary Vladimir Rushailo will discuss a number of urgent issues in bilateral relations and primarily the fight against international terrorism and security in the Caucasus, with the Georgian leadership.
Rushailo said that he had arrived in Tbilisi on the invitation of Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze and his Georgian counterpart Tedo Dzhaparidze.
The agenda of the negotiations, the Russian Security Council Secretary said, includes issues related to the mandate of Russian peacekeepers in Abkhazia /a self-proclaimed republic in Georgia/, humanitarian and economic cooperation and the return of refugees, i.e. those who found themselves on Georgian territory, in the Pankisi Gorge in particular, during the anti-terrorist operation in Chechnya.
Vladimir Rushailo said that the presidents of the two countries were currently holding an active dialogue and often having telephone talks to discuss the whole range of issues faced by the two countries.
