Turkmenian legislature ratifies Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation with Russia

Turkmenian legislators ratified a Treaty on the Friendship and Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation at the Friday session, the parliamentary staff told RIA Novosti.

At the session, legislators also adopted five new laws, which are a part of Saparmurat Niyazov's Programme for the Legal Support of Reforms and Reorganisation of Turkmenistan Targeted at Further Improvement of National Legislation," the administration added.

The Medzhlis /the Turkmenian parliament/ has also ratified a Turkmenian-Belarussian Friendship and Cooperation Treaty signed on May 17th 2002 in Ashkhabad, as well as the Treaty on the Ratification of the Agreement between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran on a Long-term Economic, Trade, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation."
