Ukraine's defence ministry and ministry of emergency situations have set up a working group to investigate the incident with the Israeli jet that flew from Tel Aviv to Moscow, told journalists Ukrainian Defence Minister Vladimir Shkidchenko.
The minister dismissed Israeli media reports about a Ukrainian missile exploding near the jet when it flew above Dnepropetrovsk as false, saying no missiles were launched from the Ukrainian territory since the beginning of the year.
In October 4, 2001, Ukrainian President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Leonid Kuchma banned all exercises involving missile launches from the country's territory. The decision followed an incident with a Ukrainian missile, which brought down a Russian Tu-154 jet with Israeli passengers on board.
