Two employees of Belarussian embassy attacked in Moscow

The Russian foreign ministry has expressed its regret in connection with an attack on two employees of the Belarussian embassy to Moscow, reported official foreign ministry spokesman Alexander Yakovenko.

"It is with a feeling of regret that we acknowledge that two women, both of them employees of the Belarussian embassy, were attacked on the night of July 3rd," said Yakovenko.

According to his words, the women were beaten up and robbed of money and documents.

Pointing out that the Russian interior ministry is investigating the incident, the diplomat assured journalists that the foreign ministry would keep an eye on the investigation while staying "in close touch with Russian law enforcing authorities and the Belarussian embassy to Moscow."
