RIA Novosti was informed on Wednesday by the department of information and press of the Russian Foreign Ministry that Moscow was supporting the forthcoming regular round of negotiations between the UN Secretary General and Iraqi representatives.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the forthcoming round of negotiations would be held on July 4-5 in Vienna. In the course of it the parties planned to consider "a wide range of issues to settle the situation around Iraq." The Russian Foreign Ministry concluded that "Moscow was hopeful that the new round would bring practical results to settle the Iraqi problem on the basis of implementation of appropriate resolutions of the UN Security Council."
