Relatives of air crash victims asked to take along some clothes and personal effects of the dead for identification

German experts have asked relatives of the victims of an air disaster to take along some clothes and personal belongings of the dead for identification purposes, a spokesman for the Baden-Wuertemberg police directorate told RIA Novosti by telephone on Wednesday.

According to him, the dead bodies are being identified in parallel by two expert groups -- specialists from the federal criminal police department and forensic experts.

On Wednesday, the experts are scheduled to meet with representatives of the Russian delegation. The latter are expected to bring with them photographs of the dead, some clothes, dental X-rays, and personal things of disaster victims. In the view of experts, this may appreciably expedite the identification procedure.

So far specialists cannot say how long the identification will take. But they plan to complete it as soon as possible for relatives to take the bodies home.
