Russia's Rar Eastern market is very important for Japan

On Wednesday a delegation of the Japanese Rotobo Association of Trade with Russia and Central and East European Countries will negotiate with representatives of the government of Khabarovsk Territory (Russian Far East) on prospects of cooperation.

President of the Association Tasuku Takagaki, who heads the delegation, noted in his speech at a meeting with governor of Khabarovsk Territory Viktor Ishayev and other leaders of local bodies of power that "most of the residents of Japan are interested in improving and expanding political and economic cooperation between Japan and Russia.

In particular, Takagaki mentioned the need to deliver energy sources to Japan and, in particular, gas, and the construction of a pipeline across the Far East. He noted at the same time that Japanese businessmen were interested in cooperating in the sphere of machine-building, timber processing, as well as the light and food industries. He said that he considers Russia's Far Eastern market to be very important for Japan.
