Norwegian Defence Minister will conduct negotiations in Kirghizia

The Defence Minister of the Kingdom of Norway, Mrs. Kristin Krohn Devold, intends to discuss the prospects of military-technological cooperation between the two countries with Kirghiz Defence Minister Esen Topoyev in the Kirghiz capital of Bishkek, reported the press service of the Kirghiz Defence Ministry.

According to the press service, during her visit to Kirghizia the Norwegian Defence Minister plans also to meet with Kirghiz Prime Minister Nikolai Tanayev.

It is expected that the sides will discuss the situation in Central Asia and the course of the anti-terrorist operation which is being conducted by the United States and its allies in Afghanistan. They will also talk about the prospects of the post-conflict development of the Afghan state and about the cooperation between Kirghizia and Norway in the context of the anti-terrorist coalition.

Kristin Krohn Devold will visit the base of the international military contingent deployed at the Manas airport nearby the Kirghiz capital. It is also the base of the Norwegian military contingent which takes part in anti-terrorist actions in Afghanistan.
