George Bush: Russia is no longer us enemy

The American military have abandoned the practice of the cold war and at the present moment they plan and maintain the level of the armed forces on the basis of the assumption that Russia is no longer a US enemy, the US President George Bush said.

This was disclosed Thursday by George Bush in his letter forwarded to US Senate in connection with the START-3 ratification by American legislators.

According to Bush, today Russia is a US friend and direct contacts and exchanges at a level of the Armed Forces as well as secret services have been established and are being expanded between the two countries.

Today, the USA and Russia "are also partners in the fight against terrorism and solution of regional problems," the head of the White House stressed in the letter, which also points out the development of Russo-American contacts at a level of business circles, culture representatives and direct exchanges of citizens between the two countries.
