The first session of the Commission on Strategic Russo-Polish Co-operation has been held in Warsaw. The two countries' foreign ministers, Igor Ivanov and Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz respectively, attended the session which was held in the palace on the water in the royal Lazenki park.
The commission was established on the initiative of the nations' presidents. Agreement was reached on the subject during Vladimir Putin's visit to Warsaw.
The commission will discuss a whole range of issues connected with strategic interaction as part of political contacts, as well as in the trade-economic sphere.
When opening the session, the Polish foreign minister pointed to the high level of relations between Poland and Moscow and expressed his satisfaction with the fact that contacts between the two countries had been given permanent status.
