The commanding officers of the CIS frontier troops are to discuss the issues of fighting international terrorism. A regular 44th meeting of the Council of the CIS frontier troops commanding officers will be opened in the capital of Tajikistan on Tuesday, June 18, said first deputy chairman of the National Border Protection Committee in Tajikistan's government Nuralisho Nazarov.
Fighting international terrorism and extremism, drugs and arms smuggling and the situation on the CIS south borders are the key issues that will be on the agenda of the meeting.
The delegation headed by the chief of the Russian frontier service Colonel-General Konstantin Totsky is to arrive in Dushanbe on Monday, June 17. The meeting of Totsky with Tajikistan's president Emomali Rakhmonov is scheduled for June 18.
