All fragments of the Kursk submarine front compartment which can be obtained will certainly be lifted from the Barents Sea bottom, and passed to investigators of the federal Prosecutor-General's office, Pavel Vodinsky, Northern Fleet deputy top prosecutor, said to RIA Novosti.
He did not specify just which fragments were concerned.
A part of the torpedo tube and a high-pressure air cylinder were lifted quite recently and are in Severomorsk on the sea coast to be dispatched to St. Petersburg today or tomorrow for investigation.
The nuclear submarine was wrecked during a Northern Fleet exercise in August 2000. Its greater part was lifted last autumn. Experts are not sure about what caused the wreck even now, two years after the tragedy.
