The US Endeavour shuttle is expected to dock to the International Space Station /ISS/ on Friday at 08:18 p.m., Moscow time. This information has been disclosed by the Russian Mission Control.
The mission primary objective is to deliver to the ISS the 5th long-term expedition led by Russian cosmonaut Valery Korzun. The expedition also includes First Flight Engineer US astronaut Peggy Witson and Second Flight Engineer Russian cosmonaut Sergei Treshchov. The crew will spend about 18 weeks on-board the station, the Mission Control reported.
In addition, the Endeavour will deliver to the ISS 2.5 tons of various cargo necessary for the station's proper operation.
The 4th permanent expedition led by Russian cosmonaut Yuri Onufriyenko that arrived in the station on December 8th 2001, will return to the Earth on June 17th on-board the Endeavour, which is expected to undock from the ISS on Saturday, June 15th, the Mission Control reported.
