Participants in conference on interaction and confidence measures in Asia to sign two documents in Alma Ata on June 4

On June 4th the participants in the conference on interaction and confidence measures in Asia (CICMA) will sign in Alma Ata the final document on the results of the forum - the Alma Ata declaration, as well as the CICMA declaration on eradication of terrorism and development of a dialogue of civilisations.

As State Secretary - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kasymzhomart Tokayev told journalists, the Alma Ata declaration is designed "to fix the main aims and directions of the CICMA's activity which lie in boosting cooperation by way of working out multilateral approaches to ensurance of peace, security and stability in Asia".

Furthermore, according to the Kazakh Minister, "a collective call upon all the participating states which are involved in conflicts to settle them in a peaceful way in accordance with the principles envisaged by the UN Charter will be voiced".

"The agreed-upon stand of the Asian states participating in the CICMA on the topical questions of security and cooperation on the continent" will also be reflected in the document, Tokayev pointed out.

About thirty Asian states, among them Russia, were represented at a high level at the Alma Ata summit.
