The prospects for deepening Ukrainian-Belarussian trade and economic cooperation will be discussed by Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma and Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko on Wednesday in the Ukrainian city of Chernigov.
The head of the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Borodenkov, spoke about it at the briefing.
According to him, at this meeting the heads of the two countries will also consider the problems of the functioning of the Ukrainian-Belarussian state frontier. A considerable attention will be paid to the contractual-legal status of the frontier.
As was pointed out by the diplomat, all these questions call for an urgent solution at the presidential level, because they affect both the basic state interests and the interests of the citizens of Ukraine and Belarus.
