In the course of a seminar within the framework of the program "Partnership in the Name of Peace", the Ukrainian military heads and the NATO experts are discussing the issues of the Ukrainian military forces reformation, plans of cooperation and joint military and navy exercises in Sevastopol (the Crimea).
The Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Admiral Mikhail Ezhel, expressed hopes that the participants in the seminar will work out prospects for cooperation between the Ukrainian Armed forces and NATO, and the possibility of integrating the Ukrainian Armed Forces into NATO. This was disclosed to a RIA Novosti correspondent on Wednesday by the Navy press-service in the course of the seminar, which started on May 27th and will last till May 30th.
Meanwhile, as it was disclosed to a RIA Novosti correspondent by head of the Navy press-service Nikolai Savchenko, reports of NATO experts are of "a strategic and diplomatic nature" and the Ukrainian intentions to join the NATO "have been neither specified, nor commented".
It was planned to hold one-day international military and navy exercises within the framework of the "Ukraine-NATO" seminar. There was no specific information on the exercises.
