Consultations between the Russian and Georgian foreign ministry representatives are to be held in Moscow. According to diplomatic sources in Moscow, the central issue at the upcoming meeting will be changing the mandate of the Collective Peace-Keeping Forces in the zone of Georgian-Abkhazian conflict.

As it was earlier reported, the Georgian side has more than once raised this issue. Valery Loschinin, the presidential special envoy for the Georgian-Abkhazian settlement, said that Russia "did not object to internationalisation of the peace-keeping operation." "We want other CIS countries to join the Collective Peace-Keeping Forces," he said.

Commenting on the situation in the conflict zone, the Russian special envoy described it as complicated. "Certain steps should be made to increase mutual trust. We are thinking of ways to do it," he said.
