Russian Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov has arrived in Armenia on an official visit on Wednesday. Mironov will hold several meetings on inter-parliamentary and bilateral issues. On arriving in Yerevan, Mironov attended the Tsitsernakaberd memorial and laid a wreath to the monument to victims of the Armenians' genocide in 1915-1922. In addition, Mironov planted a fir-tree in the Memory Alley. After that, Mironov is expected to meet with his counterparts in the Armenian National Assembly and with President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan. They will discuss the restructuring of the Armenian debt to Russia, which totals 98 million dollars, the Federation Council press service said. In addition, Mironov will visit the Russian-Armenian (Slav) University in Yerevan, will meet with representatives of the Russian diaspora in Armenia and the Head of the Armenian Autokephal Church, Catholicos Garegin II. On May 23 Sergei Mironov will pay an official visit to Georgia.
