The complicated situation that had arisen in the South Asian region in view of a new aggravation of the Indian-Pakistani relations after the terrorist acts on May 14 in the states of Jammu and Kashmir were discussed by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Losyukov and Indian Ambassador in Moscow Krishnan Ragunath. As RIA Novosti was informed in the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Indian side gave explanations of India's position in this situation and of the measures being taken by New Delhi in this respect. The Russian side came out for a resolute condemnation of the terrorists' crimes. The Russian Foreign Ministry underscored that Russia understood India's concern about the terrorist activity of extremist organisations from the Pakistan-controlled territory. At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out, Moscow proceeds from the consideration that "since in the present situation an open military conflict would have grave consequences for security and stability exceeding the limits of that region, both sides should show an extremely well thought-out decisions in their actions.
