President Eduard Shevardnadze of Georgia hailed RIA Novosti's new information project - publishing the Russian Bulletin weekly supplement to the Free Georgia newspaper circulated in Tbilisi. The first supplement was issued on May 9, the Victory Day. "I whole-heartedly welcome the initiative of the Free Georgia newspaper and RIA Novosti," Shevardnadze stated at the press conference in Tbilisi. According to him, the supplement highlighted pressing and interesting topics. "If other newspapers could do the same, it will be only welcome," Eduard Shevardnadze said. The president greets any steps aimed at improving relations between Russia and Georgia and creating a friendly atmosphere, noting that this should be done on a "reciprocal basis."
