Russia's Chief of General Staff General Anatoly Kvashnin is arriving on Monday evening in Brussels in order to take part in consultations with his NATO colleagues. On Tuesday, May 7, General Kvashnin will take part in the meetings of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council at the highest level and the Joint Permanent Military Committee Russia-NATO. Joint activity in fighting terrorism, peacekeeping operations in the Balkans, opening of a NATO military connection mission will be among the key issues at the meetings. Anatoly Kvashnin will also hold bilateral meetings with the Chairman of the NATO military committee, Admiral Guido Venturoni, General Inspector of Bundeswehr Harald Kujat, who will take Venturoni's post in the near future and High Commissioner of the NATO armed forces in Europe Joseph Rolston. In the evening the Chief of Russian General Staff is leaving for Moscow.
