The Russian Aeroflot and the well-known company Bovis Lend Lease International Ltd. have signed a contract for building the next stage of the Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport. That the tender was won by the company Bovis Lend Lease International Ltd. is quite logical, said Alexander Zurabov, one of the Aeroflot leaders. As of today, the firm is one of the world's best in building air service facilities. In recent time alone, this company has commissioned such facilities as airports in Sydney, the French city Lille, the Spanish city Palma de Mallorca and the European berth at the London Heathrow airport. The deadline for the implementation of the project is the end of 2003-the beginning of 2004. Experts estimate the cost of the construction of the Sheremetyevo-3 terminal at $250-300 million. In accordance with international practice, Aeroflot will bear about 15% of project financing. (kul/lio)
