Countries of the Asian-Pacific Region are traditional buyers of Russian materiel, Viktor Komardin, a senior executive of the state enterprise Rosoboronexport, has told RIA Novosti. He heads the Russian delegation to the international exhibition of military and naval materiel which is running in Singapore. According to Komardin, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka recently joined the enterprise's old partners -- India, China and Vietnam. The head of the Russian delegation declared that Russia takes into account the regional countries's ambition to switch from arms purchases to more complex types of military-technical cooperation. Apart from offering end products, Russia is ready to assist its Asian customers in building ships and vessels at local ship-building plants and in establishing repairs shops. Besides, Moscow is ready to cooperate with its foreign partners in offset programmes, to lease materiel, to establish join repairs enterprises and regional centres of guarantee maintenance of the previously shipped materiel and to set up licensed production and teaching courses for the local personnel.
