The Secretariat of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) reports from Vienna that lawyers of the Yugoslav province of Kosovo met Saturday in Pristina for a conference to discuss a new Code of Ethics in courts and in legal proceedings. The Kosovo Bar and representatives of French non-governmental organisations are taking part in the work of the conference, convened on the OSCE's initiative. According to an OSCE spokesman at the conference, the adoption of the Code of Ethics will guarantee Kosovo citizens a thorough and fair examination of their cases in court, "stimulating the development of the processes of democratisation and transparency in legal proceedings of the province." The Kosovo Bar is a multi-ethnic organisation, which resumed its work last April.
