At least 25 US servicemen have died in Afghanistan, Consul General of the Taliban in Peshawar Najibullah told the press. Meanwhile, Abdul Salam Zaeef, the Taliban ambassador to Islamabad, reported that commander of the southern group of Taliban forces Jalaluddin Hakkani had arrived in Pakistan. The ambassador claims he would hold talks with the leaders of Pashtun border tribes on the refugee situation. The SANA news agency reports that Hakkani and the commanders accompanying him met Hussein Ahmed, the leader of the Pakistani religious party Jamiat-i-Islami on Monday. They delivered a special message to him from Taliban spiritual leader mullah Mohammad Omar which stated that "the jihad against the USA will continue while there is an Afghan alive."
