The military phase of the anti-terrorist operation in Afghanistan will last for another 2-3 weeks and will be followed by the formation of a provisional government in the country. RIA Novosti learned this from military-diplomatic sources in the Russian capital on Monday. The sources noted that the formation of such a government will proceed under the control of member-countries of the anti-terrorist coalition and with the support of the Northern Alliance and ex-king of Afghanistan Zahir Shah. According to the sources, representatives of all religious-ethnic groups of the country, including representatives of intellectuals and moderate members of the Taliban movement who are not involved in crimes, may be included in the provisional government. The government is expected to exist in the course of a "certain transitional period," during which conditions are to be created for general elections in Afghanistan. After the formation of a provisional government in Afghanistan the USA and its allies are planning to launch an unprecedented operation to destroy the terrorist organizations and their leaders outside of Afghanistan, said the sources.
