Islamic Conference Organization Calls For Emergency UNSC Session

Qatar, which is now presiding over the Islamic Conference Organization, demanded on its behalf that the UN Security Council hold its emergency session. Qatar's Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabir al Thani invited the ambassadors of five countries, e.g. permanent UNSC members, October 21, voicing that demand during the talks. Qatar demands that the UNSC hold its emergency session in order to discuss that brazen Israeli aggression against the people of Palestine and to ensure the Palestinian nation's international protection, an official Qatar spokesman noted. In his words, a favourable situation for resuming the Mideastern peace process on the basis of the relevant international decisions and the land-for-peace principle should be created. Qatar condemns the current Israeli escalation of tensions on occupied Palestinian territories, as well as its rude aggression against the people of Palestine and the resumed occupation of the Palestinian national autonomy's territory, the spokesman stressed.
