The trilateral meeting of the presidents of Russia, Tajikistan and the Islamic State of Afghanistan was initiated by Russian president Vladimir Putin, Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov told journalists Monday. According to him, "the meeting was agreed upon before the Russian President's departure for Shanghai." Rakhmonov said he was keeping in touch with Vladimir Putin. "We talk on the phone in a day or two and sometimes every hour. It depends upon the situation," he noted.
