Russia's foreign minister Igor Ivanov met Thursday US secretary of state Colin Powell to discuss international efforts targeting global terrorism network, and the current operation in Afghanistan. High on the agenda were preparations for the forthcoming meeting between Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin and George W. Bush due on October 21 in Shanghai. The tete-a-tete Ivanov-Powell talks will be followed by a business dinner in an extended format.
