Meeting Of APEC Foreign And Trade Ministers Shows High Level Of Unanimity

The Thursday meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation /APEC/ foreign and trade ministers showed "a high level of unanimity" in the necessity to give a strong rebuff to the challenge of international terrorism, Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov told journalists commenting on the results of the second day of the meeting. The ministers also examined the problem of terrorism in the light of the recent terrorist attacks on the USA which was not on the agenda at first, Ivanov said. Ivanov stressed the necessity of common approach to this problem of the member-states of the APEC "uniting representatives of different civilizations and religions." The participants in the meeting agreed upon practical measures on imposing control over financial flows backing terrorism in all its manifestations, Ivanov added.
