The second lot of Russian humanitarian goods -- 210 tons of foodstuffs -- was distributed among the population of Afghanistan's northwestern provinces of Badakhshan and Panjsher after being successfully shipped across the Tajik-Afghan border on Sunday, Shamsulhaq Arayanfar, a councillor of the Afghan embassy in Dushanbe, told RIA Novosti on Tuesday. In the next few days, reports the Russian embassy to Tajikistan, Russia is sending another lot of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan by railway. In the meantime, officials from the Russian emergencies ministry are in constant contact with Afghan diplomats based in Tajikistan about primary demands of Afghan refugees. The first batch of Russian humanitarian goods arrived in Afghanistan on October 10.
