Russian Vice-Premier Ilya Klebanov, now on a visit in Delhi, said that India and Russia give a backing to actions being taken against the Taliban. "Both our countries have been faced with the problem of terrorism and know too well what it means," said Klebanov. This utterance followed after his negotiations with India's Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh and Defense Minister George Fernandes. They discussed, among other things, the Afghanistan problem and regional security. The sides have agreed that the Afghanistan problem will also be discussed in detail during the visit to Delhi by Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Trubnikov on October 19.
