Boris Gromov, governor of the Moscow Region, will come to Germany on a one-day visit on October 16. The RIA Novosti Correspondent learned from the governor's press service that Boris Gromov is expected to speak at the conference "Russia and the New World Order after September 11" at the German Politics Center in Berlin. It is expected that the conference participants will discuss measures how to counteract terrorism and the situation in Afghanistan. In 1987-1989 Boris Gromov, Colonel-General (ret.), was commander of the 40th Soviet army which fought in Afghanistan. In the afternoon of October 16 the governor will meet with Prime Minister of the Federal Land of Brandenburg, Manfred Stolpe. Gromov will also meet with representatives of German business circles to discuss mutually advantageous cooperation and the attraction of German investments to the Moscow Region's economy.
