Presidents Of Russia And Poland Are Meeting In Moscow

Sergei Prikhodko, deputy head of the Kremlin Administration, told journalists after the Presidents of Russia and Poland, Vladimir Putin and Aleksander Kwasniewski, met in the Kremlin, that the Polish President was interested in the Russian leadership's assessments of the anti-terror operation of the USA and its allies, as well as Russia's vision of the development of the world situation following the September 11 tragic events in the USA. Prikhodko said that both presidents noted that a "new serious reserve" is being created now for deepening mutual understanding between Russia and Poland on the basis of a "more pragmatic approach." Vladimir Putin and Aleksander Kwasniewski noted that it was possible to cast off the serious ideological strata that formerly stood in the way to progress. The deputy head of the Kremlin Administration cited the Presidents' words that "history is our common heritage, no matter how hard it may be." At the same time the leaders of Russia and Poland stressed that the peoples and leaders of both countries "are bound to look ahead to the future" and ensure conditions to strengthen mutual understanding between the two countries, said Sergei Prikhodko. Prikhodko said that during the negotiations the Presidents of Russia and Poland also dealt with humanitarian cooperation which is of exceptional importance for the development of cooperation in all spheres.
