The situation with the humanitarian aid which Russia is rendering to the population of Afghanistan was discussed on Monday during a conference between Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, the Vice-Premiers and the heads of key ministries. According to the Government Information Department, it was noted at the conference that Russia intends to continue coordinating its activity in delivering humanitarian food aid to Afghanistan with the UN. Apart from that, it is planned to deliver aid cargoes jointly with the CIS countries. By now Afghanistan has already received 9 planeloads of humanitarian aid from Russia, and it is planned that foodstuffs will be airlifted there in future, too.
