The Afghan situation is expected to be the centerpiece of upcoming talks between British Vice Premier John Prescott and Moscow officials, reported the British embassy to Moscow on Monday. Although the purpose of Prescott's visit, which begins later in the day, is to discuss economic issues and climatic changes with his Russian counterparts, talks will also focus on "rapid developments in Afghanistan," said a source at the embassy. On Tuesday, Prescott leaves Moscow for Kiev to meet with Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma and Premier Anatoly Kinakh.
